Each link below will take you to a deeper review of the "C." There is a segment explaining how to integrate the specific "C" into the classroom linked to each "C" in the table below. The segments are from the Preparing 21st Century Students for a Global Society document published by the NEA. In groups examine the deeper explanation of each "C" then review the lesson plan below this table. Download a copy of the lesson plan and edit - being sure to keep up with your changes. We are going incorporate all four "C's" into the lesson plan. Describe an update that could incorporate the assigned component(s). What Google tools could be used? Post a copy of your updated lesson plan to the Google Sheet that describes your "C."

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

Critical thinking is focused, careful analysis of something to better understand it. When people speak of “left brain” activity, they are usually referring to critical thinking. It has impact upon all aspects of learning and thought processes.

Communicating is the process of transferring a thought from one mind to others and, in return, receiving thoughts back. Communicating allows minds to tune to each other, thinking together.

Collaborating is working together with others to achieve a common goal. In this age of social media and crowd sourcing, collaboration is more important than ever.

Creativity and Innovation

Creative thinking is expansive, open-ended invention and discovery of possibilities. When people speak of “right brain” activity, they most often mean creative thinking.
